Giacomo was born in Seattle, Washington but now resides in Olympia. Having a Cafe in Tacoma is a happy medium. His family grew up in Messina, Sicily. Giacomo has always had a passion for authentic Italian food, and that perfect Espresso. It's been his lifelong dream to open a Cafe. He loves people, and Caffe's (as it's written in Italian) always seem to bring people together. He's committed to providing an amazing cup of coffee to the people of Tacoma and to the visitors that pass through. "Vos et ipsam civitatem benedicimus": We bless you and your city.

Cafe Messina is a place where amazing espresso meets excellent customer service. We never jeopardize a perfect latte or a friendly conversation with our customers. At Cafe Messina, you are always welcome. Whether you stay and put your feet up, or if you need your coffee in a hurry, we hope you feel welcome. Feel free to stop in before work, grab a cup of coffee, and sit in front of our TV to catch the morning news. We also invite you to return for lunch to enjoy one of our homemade sandwiches, salads, or soups. You may even catch us on the day when we're serving our signature Minestrone soup!
